Our Community:

We don’t think there is any other place closer to paradise than the southwest coast of Florida. With an abundance of natural beauty, vitality, and plenty of sunshine, my wife Annie and I decided to put down our roots in 1997 and start our business and family. We knew very quickly after meeting the people
around us this was the type of community we wanted to be involved with and
fully embrace.

Outreach:

We don’t just live in our community, we try to be part of our community and give back as it has given to us. Naturally, as a locally owned business, many of our customers are also our neighbors, and friends. Often times after building a relationship with our customers we find we have common interest, and a similar vision for community involvement. If our business can be of support or offer items for raffles and fundraising events, we do our best to contribute. Over the years we have helped the likes of Circus Sarasota, American Heart Association, YMCA, Cystic Fibrosis, Habitat for Humanity, Waldorf School Sarasota, public school arts programs, bluebird projects, disabled or disadvantaged
children’s groups, Florida West Coast Woodworkers, and various other
charitable organizations.

Education Outreach:

One of the most fulfilling experiences we have found is passing on our passion for woodworking by teaching eager young individuals. Starting in 2010 Adam Ross was asked to teach basic woodworking skills to 3-5 graders at the local Sarasota Waldorf School (link). This has been a tremendously rewarding experience. These students are very bright, creative, and enthusiastic about applying simple tools to build beautiful wooden items. Students will work on wooden tool boxes, letter openers, stilts, musical instruments, and learn about general forest ecosystems.

We have recently been approached to teach woodworking classes at a local transitional living complex. Future teaching outreach programs will include teaching at senior centers, group outings, and individual one-on-one shop classes. No matter the age, or skill level, there are a range of wooden projects that stirs the imagination.
